Endorphins

Endorphins ("endogenous morphine") are endogenous opioid peptides that function as neurotransmitters. They are produced by the pituitary gland and the hypothalamu. These Morphine-like peptides are produced by the brain in response to neurotransmitters. They bind to neuron receptors that mediate the action of opiates and induce analgesia and sedation.
